Territory
The immediate, urban area of Belgrade, covers an area of 36 km2 and the total territory of the city is around 322 km2. At its greatest length, in the north-south direction, it is 92.98 km long, and in the east-west direction 67.5 km.

For administrative purposes, Belgrade is divided into 17 municipalities:
- 10 city municipalities (Čukarica, Novi Beograd, Palilula, Rakovica, Savski venac, Stari grad, Voždovac, Vračar, Zemun and Zvezdara),
- 7 suburban municipalities (Barajevo, Grocka, Lazarevac, Obrenovac, Mladenovac, Sopot and Surčin).
